MeLSA, or Mediated Learning Support Approach, is an evidence-based framework for supporting the learning of individual learners and groups.

ELSA Online Training

The ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant) intervention is designed to build schools' capacity to support their pupils' emotional needs using their own resources. This is achieved by training learning support assistants to develop and deliver individualised support programmes to meet the emotional needs of children and teenagers in their settings.

The programme includes six days of online training, which covers a range of areas, such as emotional literacy, attachment and belonging, resilience and self-esteem, emotional regulation, grief and loss, and positive psychology approaches.

ELSA is an evidence-based intervention, as research continues to demonstrate the impact of the ELSA programme, highlighting positive outcomes for pupils in improving their emotional wellbeing, attainment, attendance and adaptive behaviours.

MeLSA Online Training

Mediated Learning Support Approach (MeLSA) is an evidence-based framework for supporting the learning of individual learners and groups.

School staff trained in the mediated learning approach become MeLSA coaches and are trained to design, deliver and evaluate individual, small-group and whole-school interventions to facilitate accelerated progress in struggling learners whilst developing learner independence. The MeLSA course was designed by several educational psychologist, each with an area of specialism in the topics covered.

Our online MeLSA course is delivered by experienced and specialist educational psychologists - Dr Alicja Jedrzejewska, Dr Louisa Reynolds, and Dr Shahid Khan. The MeLSA course is suitable for staff working in primary, secondary, specialist and mainstream schools.
