How is the training structured?

• Day 1: Introduction to Emotional Literacy (trainees and SLT members attending).
• Day 2: Attachment and Belonging.
• Day 3: Resilience and Self-Esteem.
• Day 4: Emotional Regulation.
• Day 5: Grief and Loss.
• Day 6: Positive Psychology.

The ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant) intervention was designed to build the capacity of schools to support the emotional needs of their pupils from within their own resources. This is achieved by training learning support assistants to develop and deliver individualised support programmes to meet the emotional needs of children and teenagers in their settings.
